Franco Piermartini,
President of WEST has over 30-years experience
in the waste and environmental sector.
He is currently responsible for the
quality control, occupational safety and the
environment for SO.GE.NU.S. S.p.A., a public
company active in the waste collection,
treatment and disposal.
Prior to this, Mr. Piermartini has always
been involved in the waste and environmental
sectors both as an employee as well as through
his own companies, one of which developed a 15
MW waste-to-energy facility in the
Marche region of
Italy.

Managing Director
Michael X Cabibbo,
Managing Director of WEST has over 15-years of
experience in the power and waste sectors
ranging from development, design, construction
management as well as operations and
maintenance.
In the last 10-years he has founded and
managed one company that was successful in
developing viable renewable power projects in
the Italian market.
Before transferring to
Italy
Mr. Cabibbo was responsible for the development
and construction of numerous power plants for
the Kamine Group.
Earlier Mr. Cabibbo worked with various
international architect engineering firms
including Stone & Webster, Ansaldo, Burns & Roe.
Mr. Cabibbo graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson
University with a BS in
Mechanical Engineering and has written and
presented multiple papers at trade shows and
technical conferences in the energy, waste and
maritime sectors.

Technical Director
Guglielmo Sessa
Technical Director, has 25-years of experience
as a professional engineer.
Mr. Sessa
is currently adviser to important engineering
company operating in the field environmental
energy .
His responsibilities include development
of feasibility studies, design and construction
oversight of renewably fueled power plants
located throughout
Italy.
Prior to his work, Mr. Sessa
collaborated with some of the largest Italian
industrial companies including Olivetti, Fiat, Ansaldo and Pirelli; where he was involved in
industrial design ranging from nuclear power
plants to telephone systems.
Mr. Sessa graduated cum laude from the University of Naples with a doctorate in Mechanical
Engineering and has prepared numerous articles
and reports for the energy sector.

Francesco Palumbo,
Senior Engineer, has over 50 years experience as
a naval architect.
He was licensed in Nuclear Science and as
Technical Consultant for defense against nuclear
attack in the Military. Over his long career,
Mr. Palumbo worked with the Italian Navy, the
Ministry of the Merchant Marine and D’Amico
Societą di Navigazione.
He was responsible for the design and
construction of numerous seafaring vessels, most
recently, while working in the private sector,
23 merchant ships with an average value of
50 million USD each.
Mr Palumbo attended 4-years at the Naval Academy
of Livorno and graduated from the
University of
Naples
as a Naval Architect in 1958.
